Gmail: Color-Code Labels

When you make labels in your Bishop O'Dowd email account, a color is automatically assigned to it. You can change the colors of each label to help more important emails stand out, or to group labels with like colors. To change the color for a label, follow these instructions:

  1. In the left-hand menu on the main page of your Gmail account, find the label you would like to color-code and click on the Settings next to it (looks like a vertical ellipsis).
Note: The label may be hidden under the More tab.
  2. Hover over Label color and then choose which color/text combo you prefer. You also have the option to create your own.
