At the end of a semester, students may need to have a grade adjustment due to a variety of factors, including missing the final, missing enough class to earn an Incomplete, earning an F for not completing service hours or rounding up to acknowledge outstanding effort.
Override Grade
To override a grade, follow these directions:
- Log into PowerSchool and access PowerTeacher Pro.
- Click the white bar at the top of your screen and access the correct class. (Click here if you need help accessing a past course.)
- Click on Grading: All Reporting Terms.
- Click on the S1 or S2 grade for the student in question. Then, in the pop-up window, click on the letter and type in the new letter grade. You can also change the percent score, but it's not necessary. Also, enter any comments that would explain the score change.
- Click Save.
Remove an Override
If an override needs to be removed due to completion of final or missing work, follow the directions below.
Note: Alternatively, you can enter a new override using the directions above to replace the previous grade.
- Log into PowerSchool and access PowerTeacher Pro.
- Click the white bar at the top of your screen and access the correct class. (Click here if you need help accessing a past course.)
- If necessary, update grades for any assignments, including the final, for the student in question.
- Click on Grading: All Reporting Terms.
- Click on the S1 or S2 grade for the student. Then, in the pop-up window, click the circular arrow next to the letter and percent grade. This will remove the override and allow PowerSchool to calculate the grade.
Example: Although this grade shows an A, the calculated grade at the bottom of the image shows the student earned an F, 50%. By clicking the circular arrow, PowerSchool will recalculate the grade and insert what the student earned, not what was manually entered. Any manually entered grade has a small grey hashmark in the upper left corner. - Click Save.
