Docs: Share With One Person or a Small Group

If you want to allow other people to collaborate with you on your documents or grade them, make sure to share your Google Doc (or other Google products) with those people. Follow these directions below to correctly share your document with one or a few people.

Note: If you submit your Google Doc to your teacher through Schoology, you do not need to follow these steps.

  1. In the Google Doc, click on Share, located in the upper right hand corner of the window.

  2. Type the name(s) or email(s) of the people you would like to share the document with in the "Add people and groups" field. If they have Bishop O'Dowd email addresses, options will auto-populate for you to select.

  3. If you would like, you can type a message in the "Message" field to be sent along with the shared document. When you are finished, click Send.

Note: If you do not want to share editing privileges, you can adjust the dropdown box that says "Editor" to "Commenter" (allowed to comment and suggest changes) or "Viewer" (allowed to view only).
