If you receive a message like the one below "Update download failed" please close out of the browser and follow the steps below to redownload and reinstall a new LockDownBrowser software.
Reinstall Lockdown Browser
- Students can use this download link when reinstalling this software to process updates. This will redirect you to the page below, click on the yellow DOWNLOAD button.
- Find the package in your Download folder and click on the package to open it.
- Move through the prompts (agree, continue, allow) until the application is installed on your computer.

You can verify the application is on your computer by locating these icons in your applications folder or your finder.
Check for UpdatesTo check for updates periodically, start LockDown Browser by clicking its globe icon and select the i button from the toolbar.
Click Check for Update. The version will be displayed. Update LockDown Browser by downloading and running the full installation program again.
