As a Zoom meeting host, you have control of the meeting chat. We recommend you keep the chat panel open when you are conducting meetings that have chat enabled.
During a meeting, click the Chat icon to open the Chat panel.
Chat with Everyone or Chat Privately
To chat with everyone or to chat privately, click on the dropdown menu next to the "To:" field. Your choices are to chat with everyone, with everyone in the waiting room (to send a one-way message) and to individual participants.
Remember to check the field before you send every time!
Change Chat Settings
If you would like to adjust who participants can contact, click the triple dots on the far right of the chat screen and select one of the following options:
- No one
- Host and Co-hosts
Keep in mind that even if you have the chat settings for "Everyone" enabled, participants will not be able to privately message each other unless you have that setting enabled. This setting has been turned off for you. If you would like to turn it on, edit your user settings.
